Darby Allin has not been cleared to compete in the 2025 AEW Continental Classic tournament, meaning that another wrestler will take his place for the remainder of the contest.
On the December 3 edition of Dynamite, Allin appeared via video from a hospital bed to state that he was unable to compete in his Gold League match. On December 6, AEW announced that due to the injuries suffered by Allin in his opening match against Kevin Knight, he would no longer be a competitor in the tournament. At the time of writing, the nature or severity of Allin’s injuries are unknown.
This is the second time that an injury has forced a change to be made in the Continental Classic. Back in 2024, Kommander replaced Rush as one of the alternates.
Who Will Replace Darby Allin In The AEW Continental Classic?
Following the update on Allin, AEW revealed that Jack Perry would be returning to singles action in the C2. However, as Allin lost his opening match to Kevin Knight, Perry will start the tournament with a loss. Perry’s remaining matches will see him take on Mike Bailey, Kyle Fletcher, PAC, and 2024 tournament winner Kazuchika Okada.
Features of Wrestling would like to wish Darby Allin a full and speedy recovery.
