Darby Allin has given the fans an update after reaching the summit of Mount Everest, becoming the first pro wrestler to accomplish the feat.
On March 18th, news broke that AEW star Darby Allin had made it to the top of the tallest mountain in the world in what was his first attempt at scaling Everest. The Everest log broke the news and noted that a statement from Allin would be provided when the team got back to base camp.
Posting on social media the next day, the former TNT Champion posted a picture of himself and the rest of his climbing team at the summit with an AEW flag. Allin also thanked the team in helping him achieve a feat that so very few have accomplished:
Mount Everest summit.
What a ride thanks @aew for everything in life.
Thanks to the amazing team at adventure consultants and the Sherpa squad this shit was wild!
Original Plans For Darby Allin
The former Tag Team Champion was originally set to attempt the climb back in 2024. However, as he suffered a broken foot during his match on Dyamite, the attempt had to be delayed until the following year. Being written off TV for the climb following an attack by The Death Riders, Allin has been absent for an extended period and it is unknown when the former TNT Champion will return. However, as reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Allin was originally set to be back in time for the Owen Hart Cup and Double or Nothing.
