A reigning champion in WWE has called out Hall of Famer Booker T for a retirement match in the near future.
Even though he is no longer wrestling, the six-time World Champion is still very involved in the industry. Along with being one of the announcers on NXT alongside Vic Joseph, Booker is the owner of the promotion Reality of Wrestling.
Although he is no longer active as a competitor, Booker never had an official retirement match. Seeing the Hall of Famer as a mentor to him, current US Champion Trick Williams has issued a challenge to the former World Champion and King of the Ring.
Speaking with Sam Roberts and Megan Morant at Fanatics Fest, Williams responded to the claims that the Hall of Famer is looking for one more match:
“Speaking of Booker T, Word through the grapevine is Booker T wants one more match. He said he wants one more match, and I think it’s only right, it’s only fitting, if his last match is with the man he helped mould into the superstar he is today. I was thinking, what better time than the present, maybe within the next year or so. How would y’all like to see Booker T vs. “The Anointed One” Trick Williams? Just one more time. He needs that farewell match. He needs his flowers.”
The live fans in attendance were also receptive to the idea of Williams vs. the NXT announcer.
Has Booker T Had A Retirement Match?
Booker T’s last match in WWE was a cameo appearance in the 2023 Royal Rumble. Prior to this, his last televised match in WWE took place back in 2012 at WrestleMania 28. Booker T has competed multiple times at Reality of Wrestling since, with his most recent match being at the January 2025 Battle to the Bell event.
On a recent episode of his podcast, Booker T defended WWE following Sheamus’ departure.
