There are concerns that Rey Mysterio may not make it to WrestleMania 41 following the events that took place on go-home WWE SmackDown.
Update: As reported by Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline, should Misterio be unable to compete, then Dragon Lee has been discussed as the replacement to face El Grande Americano.
The Hall of Famer was in action on the April 18th episode of SmackDown as he teamed with Rey Fenix and Dragon Lee to take on Chad Gable and The Creed Brothers. However, at one point in the match Mysterio picked up an injury, leaving Fenix and Lee to finish the match with Fenix picking up the victory for his team. While nothing has been confirmed, it is suspected that Mysterio suffered a knee injury in the match.
As seen via fan footage from those in attendance, Mysterio was checked on by medical staff and was helped to the back, leading to concerns that he wouldn’t be able to make it to WrestleMania.
Rey Mysterio Match In Jeopardy
Mysterio was set to take on El Grande Americano at WrestleMania 41 after the masked wrestler had attacked the Hall of Famer over the past few weeks. However, it is now unknown if the legendary luchador will be cleared to compete for the show or if he will ow be sidelined until further notice with an injury. Mysterio has dealt with numerous knee injuries in the past.
