Concerning Update Regarding Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins fans may have to prepare themselves for some bad news.

During the January 15th episode of Raw, the World Heavyweight Champion successfully defended the title against Jinder Mahal in the main event. As was seen in the match, Rollins was favouring his knee and struggled to continue when executing various moves.

It was later reported that Seth Rollins was assessed backstage and was booked in for an MRI to find out how serious the injury was. As an additional precaution, Rollins has been removed from Raw tapings and non-televised events for the rest of the month and is scheduled to return after the Royal Rumble.

For the rest of the week, updates have been minimal with no one able to provide further information. Unfortunately, as of January 19th, the latest update may not be what fans want to hear.

As reported by WrestleVotes, Rollins will reference the injury and how it affects his reign as World Heavyweight Champion on the January 22nd broadcast:

I’m told the plan of as now is for Seth Rollins to address his health & future as World Heavyweight Champion this Monday night on RAW.

In a new update, WWE have confirmed that this will be the plan for Seth Rollins.

Will Seth Rollins Be At WrestleMania

On a more positive note, Rollins was not scheduled to compete at the Royal Rumble, meaning that there is additional time to recover. With many hoping that the injury is minor, the additional rest may be enough to get Rollins to Philadelphia. As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plan is for Rollins to face off against CM Punk at WrestleMania 40, likely in the main event of night one. If the World Heavyweight Champion is unable to make it, plans will be thrown into disarray.

With neither Rollins nor Punk ever headlining The Show of Shows, many are hoping that The Visionary will be walking down the ramp in April.
