The Judgment Day has been dethroned once again.
In the opening match of WWE Fastlane, Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes defeated Damian Priest and Finn Balor to become the new Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions. Miscommunication was ultimately the deciding factor for The Judgment Day, with interference by JD McDonagh proving to be costly.
Priest and Balor looked in danger of losing the match, bringing out Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio. The match looked to be won when Uso was struck with the Money in the Bank briefcase but Uso kicked out.
JD McDonagh also tried to help out the group but this proved to be costly as he accidentally struck Priest in the leg that had been targeted with the briefcase. As Uso dove to the outside to take out the rest of Judgment Day, Balor was hit with a Cross Rhodes, allowing Rhodes and Uso to win the match and the championships.
This is Cody Rhodes’ first championship since returning to WWE at WrestleMania. For The Judgment Day, they are no longer draped in gold for a second time and problems within the group have materialised once again.
