CM Punk, a return segment and a live microphone, what could possibly go wrong?
With Punk now back in WWE, many were eagerly anticipating the return promo on the November 27th edition of WWE Raw. Known for being outspoken and with his AEW promos fresh in the minds, fans were curious as to what would happen.
Anyone expecting subtly shots to be thrown at Tony Khan, The Elite or AEW were sadly disappointed, as this was not Punk’s mission statement on Raw.
What Did CM Punk Say?
Beginning by referencing that hell froze over, Punk explained how bizarre it was that he was inside a WWE ring for the first time in nearly 10 years. Punk stated how his shock return was a career highlight and that he has changed.
Teasing 2 words he wanted to say, Punk finally said “I’m home” to the delight of the Nashville crowd. Punk went on to thank the fans for never forgetting him even though there were times that he wanted to forget himself.
Punk went on to say that he missed the fans and wished he never had to leave but a wise man told him that he had to leave and come back to get everything he needed.
Punk then went on to say that everyone backstage is happy to see him and it feels like a family reunion, then stating his wife AJ Lee sends her regards.
Sending a message to the locker room, Punk said that those who think they are the best in the world are going to get a reality check as the real best in the world is back. Punk then said off mic “I’m back. I’m not here to make friends I’m here to make money.” The show then went off the air.
