CJ Perry Launching Podcast, First Guest & Premiere Date Revealed

Former WWE and AEW star CJ Perry is the latest name in the wrestling world to launch her own podcast, which is set to premiere in early November.

As announced on October 30, the new show titled Identity Crisis is set to debut on November 3, with Perry’s husband and WWE star Rusev announced as the first guest on the show. A promotional quote for the show also confirms that film producer Jonathan Saba will also be a part of the new project:

Rusev made his return to WWE shortly after WrestleMania 41 after previously being released from his contract back in 2020. During his 5-year hiatus from the company, the former United States Champion was previously a part of AEW, and competed in his final match for the company at Worlds End 2023. Currently a part of the Raw roster, Rusev is set to join Penta in challenging Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship at the next Saturday Night’s Main Event special on November 1.

Wrestling fans best know Perry from her time in WWE as Lana, the Russian valet who accompanied Rusev to the ring for most of his matches. However, following a storyline where Lana left Rusev for Bobby Lashley, the couple went their separate ways in storyline. Lana’s final match to date took place on the May 31, 2021 episode of Raw, where Lana and Naomi lost to Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose.

Lana was released from WWE the same day as Rusev, and made her AEW debut at All Out 2023. Perry managed Andrade heading into his match with Miro [Rusev], but betrayed her former client to give Miro the victory.

While Perry is yet to make a return to WWE, she is currently signed to a legends deal with the company.
