Chris Jericho Wins ROH World Championship On AEW Dynamite

Chris Jericho is now a 2-time Ring of Honor World Champion following the events that took place on AEW Dynamite.

On the October 23rd episode of AEW Dynamite, Jericho challenged Mark Briscoe for the title in a ladder war. The match saw Briscoe busted open early on in the match but continued to make a comeback with big moves onto the ladders and continuing the punishment onto Jericho. As expected, Bryan Keith took advantage of the no disqualification stipulation to help Jericho gain an advantage. Rocky Romero looked to neutralise the interference as Brosco delivered a massive elbow drop onto Jericho through the table. Bricose went up the ladder Big Bill attacked Briscoe and threw him out of the ring and through a table onto the outside.

The closing stage of the match saw Big Bill help Jericho climb the ladder to pull down the championship and win the match.

Jericho previously faced off against Briscoe in a standard match at WrestleDream but was unsuccessful, leading to the ladder war rematch as Jericho kept bringing up Mark’s late brother Jay Briscoe. As a result of the victory, Jericho is now a 9-time World Champion over the course of his career.

When Did Chris Jericho First Win The Ring Of Honor World Championship:

Back in September 2022, Jericho noted that while he had won World Championships in WWE and AEW, he had never been the Ring of Honor World Champion. Facing off against Claudio Castagnoli at AEW Grand Slam, Chris Jericho shockingly defeated The Swiss Cyborg to win the title for the first time in his career.
