Chelsea Green has officially made WWE history.
Defeating Michin at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Green became the overall winner of the Women’s United States Championship Tournament and is officially the first-ever holder of the new title, capping off what has been a standout year for the SmackDown star.
Green won the match by hitting a top rope Un-pretty-her which was met with a thunderous ovation from the live crowd. Green was presented with the title by Nick Aldis after the match.
Green defeated Bayley to advance to the finals and Michin defeated Tiffany Stratton.
The championship is Green’s second in WWE after previously winning the Women’s Tag Team Championships with Sonya Deville. While at one point it appeared that the titles would have to be vacated as Deville suffered a torn ACL, Piper Niven stepped in to continue Green’s reign. the duo remained champions until December 2023.

Although Green has only seen championship success at the end of the year, the new Women’s United States Champion has had a great year filled with highlights. A highlight of the Women’s Royal Rumble and taking an insane bump in the Women’s Money in the Bank match, Green has maximised her minutes in the best way possible while also being entertaining in her many interactions with authority figures.
As soon as the tournament was announced, many fans online stated that Green was their number one choice to become the overall winner.
