Brock Lesnar has been withdrawn from more WWE-associated products.
Players of WWE 2K SuperCard have noted that Lesnar is absent from the digital card collector game. According to PWInsider, this is intentional and Lesnar has been removed from the game.
Much like WWE themselves, 2K are refusing to acknowledge Lesnar moving forward and expect the former World Champion to be either majorly downplayed or outright removed by other licensees. 2K Games is also the developer behind the upcoming video game WWE 2K24. With the game already completed and set for release in March, there have been no updates as to whether Lesnar will be a playable character or removed entirely, possibly in a day 1 patch update.
The removal comes less than a week after Brock Lesnar was withdrawn from the Men’s Royal Rumble match. It was widely believed that Lesnar would be returning to the company after a lengthy absence in the Royal Rumble match to set up a rivalry for WrestleMania. Being pulled from the match the day of the show, NXT star Bron Breakker was given the Lesnar spots in the match before being eliminated by Dominik Mysterio. Lesnar was reportedly set to face Mysterio at Elimination Chamber on February 24th.
Why Has Brock Lesnar Been Removed?
On January 25th, Vince McMahon was accused of sex trafficking and multiple counts of sexual assault by former WWE employee Janel Grant. The lawsuit includes many distressing details of graphic instances of sexual assault. While not named, the lawsuit states that one of the parties involved is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion who the company were looking to re-sign. The lawsuit alleges that Grant was forced to take part in multiple explicit acts for the benefit of the Superstar in question after being ordered to by McMahon. The Wall Street Journal has identified this athlete as Lesnar.
