The Loeve family had plenty to celebrate at Fight Factory Wrestling’s Bodyslams to Cancer 2026, but Carter made sure that the main event ended in controversy.
The Drill in Lincoln was packed for the promotion’s biggest show of the year, with all proceeds from the show donated to the Sophie’s Journey charity. The main event was the Dee Mansell Memorial Rumble, an annual fixture of Bodyslams to Cancer each year.
The winner of the match receives the memorial trophy and an opportunity to cash in for a championship of their choosing at any time, similar to WWE’s Money in the Bank briefcase. The final three competitors were Carter, Mason Blake and Anarchy Champion Strap, with the Lincoln crowd firmly behind the latter as seen in the front row. With Blake eliminated, it looked like Strap was finally going to have his moment. However, Carter dashed those hopes by throwing Strap over the top rope to win the trophy for the second consecutive year.
Notable surprises in the match included all three referees being entrants, as well as a Mini Strap, all of whom received some of the best crowd reactions during the Rumble. The undersized wrestler also had the most memorable elimination when she was lifted up by Blake and launched to the outside.
After the match, the Loeve family [Rebecca, Hayden, AJ and Kiya] reluctantly presented Carter with his winner’s trophy, and the two-time winner was once again arrogant in victory. After declaring his intention to challenge for the World Championship, Carter turned his attention to Rebecca. Repeating the sentiment from an earlier promo, Carter told the owner to her face, “I love Fight Factory, I hate you!” Rebecca responded with a slap before Carter was once again on the receiving end of a beatdown as the show came to an end.
Bodyslams To Cancer: A Very Fun Night For A Great Cause
Before the action got underway, the evening began with an emotional reminder of why Bodyslams to Cancer means so much to everyone involved. Rebecca spoke about the impact cancer has had on countless lives before a video highlighting the work of Sophie’s Journey played on the screen. With the Fight Factory roster surrounding the ring in support, it was a powerful opening to a show that has become one of the promotion’s most important annual events.
When almost all of the wrestlers went to the back, Carter demanded to know who his mystery opponent was. However, the former Junior Heavyweight Champion got more than he bargained for as he was tasked with facing two opponents instead of one. Along with a returning KD, who appeared to have retired late last year, “Germany’s Best Kept Secret” Lory also came back to Fight Factory one year on from the 2025 event. Both Lory and KD targeted Carter, who did everything possible to dodge his opponents and try to capitalise. In the end, it was KD who picked up the win in his first match back in 10 months.
The first title match took place next as Crook defended his Academy Championship against Lenny. As expected, the Lincoln fans loved Lenny and hoped to see him win the title. However, Lenny’s attempt to utilise a fish [yes really] as a weapon turned out to be his downfall. With the fish taken away by the referee, Crook drove Lenny into the exposed turnbuckle to pick up the win.
The first title change took place next as The Mullet Men [AJ Loeve and King of the Cage winner Zac Rowe] dethroned Act Two to win the Tag Team Championships. The Mullet Men and Act Two wasted little time turning up the pace, delivering one of the most action-packed matches of the night. Despite only recently joining forces, AJ and Zac already have impressive chemistry, with their experience in tag team wrestling elsewhere clearly paying off. Act Two are also a team you have to check out if they come to your local promotion.
Following the intermission, Kid Rothrock faced Jon Allens in a particularly emotional match for the veteran, who recently lost both of his parents. Rothrock picked up the victory, with both men showing respect to one another afterwards. On this occasion, the result meant far more than simply another win.
Brad Adder finally emerged from the garden to challenge World Champion Joey Slade, following weeks of sinister gardening-themed vignettes on social media. Unfortunately for Adder, his championship ambitions were quickly uprooted. Adder got some offence on Slade, but this was a surprisingly quick match. With both men fighting on the outside, Slade got back in the ring, but Adder could not answer the referee’s ten count. Slade won the match by countout, and was chased to the back by Adder after the bell.
Eliza Roux had some unfortunate news next as she announced to the fans that she was not cleared to compete. As such, the Ladies Championship had once again been declared vacant. With the division in need of a champion, Kiya faced Welsh wrestler Tilly Rose to determine who would represent the division. Kiya forced Rose to submit to capture the vacant championship, ensuring that both she and brother AJ Loeve left The Drill with championship gold.
While Mike Raphone and Ace Matthews hoped to have the advantage over Strap in a 2-on-1 handicap match, Rebecca announced that she never signed off on the stipulation. Instead, Cyrus Shade teamed with Strap to even the odds. Although he was given a fair opportunity, Strap was unable to overcome his rivals as Ace and Mike picked up the win.
The penultimate match before the Rumble saw former friends turned rivals Damien Valentine and Will Jackson face off with Jackson’s European Championship at stake. A match 20 years in the making, emotions were high as Jackson looked to bring back the old version of Valentine. While Valentine normally proclaims himself to be king, the crown was ditched early on. With no “Huzzas” and no royal gestures, this was Valentine with a point to prove. Even though Jackson got some near falls, he was unable to put Valentine away. Valentine looked like he got the submission win at one point, but the referee was knocked down. In the end, Valentine pinned Jackson to finally win Fight Factory gold.
Following the conclusion of the show, Rebecca confirmed that the final fundraising total would be announced in the coming days.
While the championship changes, surprise returns and Carter’s antics gave the fans plenty to talk about, Bodyslams to Cancer was ultimately about something much bigger than wrestling. From the emotional opening to the celebrations and chaos that followed, this was another reminder of what makes Fight Factory Wrestling such an important part of the local wrestling community. Whether you’re attending your first Fight Factory show or your 100th, Bodyslams to Cancer is an event well worth supporting. The wrestling is entertaining enough on its own, but knowing that the evening helps support a worthwhile cause makes it even more special.
