Bobby Lashley Injured, Pulled From WWE King of The Ring

Bobby Lashley has not been cleared to compete.

Bobby Lashley has not been cleared to compete in the King of the Ring tournament.

The former WWE Champion was originally set to take on Tama Tonga on the May 10th episode of SmackDown in the opening match of the tournament. However, in an unfortunate update from General Manager Nick Aldis, Lashley has suffered an injury and is unable to compete. Aldis also announced who Lashley’s replacement would be:

Good afternoon WWE Universe it’s your SmackDown GM Nick Aldis with an update and some slightly unfortunate news ahead of tomorrow’s SmackDown.

As many of you know, Bobby Lashley was set to take on Tama Tonga in the King of the Ring but I have been informed that Bobby has suffered an injury during training and is going to be unable to compete. He has not been medically cleared to compete in that match tomorrow night.

So, unfortunate news for Bobby Lashley but a fortunate opportunity for the man taking his place. And that man, I have decided, will be Angelo Dawkins of The Steet Profits.

There have been no further updates in regards to what the injury is or how long Lashley is expected to be out for.

Bobby Lashley Joins Growing Injury List

Lashley is unfortunately the latest name to be declared not cleared to compete in the tournament. Along with Drew McIntyre being pulled before the May 6th episode of Raw went on the air, Dakota Kai also announced that Asuka was injured and could not compete in the Queen of the Ring tournament.

Features of Wrestling would like to wish Bobby Lashley a full and speedy recovery.
