Becky Lynch Wins Back WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship

Becky Lynch is now a 2-time holder of the Women’s Intercontinental Championship following her latest victory on WWE Raw.

Lynch defeated Maxxine Dupri on the January 5 episode of Raw to win back the title she lost to Dupri back in November. The closing moments of the match saw Dupri place Lynch in an ankle lock to look for the submission victory. However, Lynch repositioned herself so that Dupri’s shoulders were on the mat, and held onto the bottom rope to steal the victory.

As a result of the victory, Lynch is now the first women to hold the Women’s Intercontinental Championship twice since it was introduced just under a year ago. After the match, Triple H posed with lynch and acknowledged the achievement.

The victory brings Dupri’s reign to an end at 49 days. The reign was also the first championship that Dupri has held in WWE. This was the second title change to take place on the show, as Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY won the Women’s Tag Team Championships in the opening match of the show.

When Did Becky Lynch First Win The Women’s Intercontinental Championship?

Lynch first captured the title at Money in the Bank 2025, where she defeated Lyra Valkryria to add to her many accolades. Lynch had previously returned at WrestleMania 41 to team with Valkyria and win the Women’s Tag Titles, but the duo lost the belts on the next episode of Raw. Lynch turned heel on Valkyria and eventually defeated the Irish wrestler to win the gold.

Lynch is also a former 7-time Women’s Champion, NXT Women’s Champion, and Royal Rumble winner.
