Becky Lynch has commented on her time in WWE.
On Sunday, August 4th, A&E presented its latest Biography episode, which saw the former Women’s Champion as the subject. Commenting on the show and on her legendary career on social media, Lynch stated that it was “an honour” to be The Man:
“It’s been a helluva career. Being the Man for all of you was an honor, being the mom for her is a privilege. Thanks for watching my bio on @AETV.”
One of the most successful women’s wrestlers in company history, Lynch won the Women’s Championship 7 times along with a victory in the 2019 Royal Rumble and the first all-women’s main event of WrestleMania later that year.
What’s Next For Becky Lynch?
After losing the Women’s World Championship to Liv Morgan at King and Queen of the Ring and in a rematch inside a steel cage match on the May 27th episode of Raw, Lynch elected not to sign a new contract and became a free agent on June 1st. Having been with the company for over a decade, this was the first time that The Man had chosen to not sign a new deal. Focused on family life with daughter Roux, Lynch has not appeared in any wrestling shows since. Shortly after the hiatus began, Dave Meltzer stated that the absence would be an extended one:
“Becky Lynch didn’t renew. Becky Lynch is taking an extended leave. From what I was told, it’s not like a short period of time. She was looking for a long time out.”
There has been no indications that Lynch will be making a return to WWE or any other wrestling company for the foreseeable future.
