Becky Lynch Provides Major WWE Contract Update

Becky Lynch has let the fans know that her current WWE contract is very likely her last.

Lynch confirmed the news in the Netflix show WWE: Unreal, which saw the second season drop on the platform on January 20. The Raw star is seen in episode 1 saying that while she loves wrestling, the hardest part is when “Mom’s got to go to work.”

Later in the episode, Lynch stated that her current contract is likely her last one, and she is looking to enjoy it as much as possible:

“That guilt is always hard. I had this little kid that I had then been leaving. I felt like when I’d come back, she was angry at me. Like I didn’t…I hadn’t had enough time with her. The time off, it was maybe gonna be forever. I don’t think I knew. I was kind of so content. This is probably it, this is the final run. This is the final contract. So I suppose it’s a matter of knowing that, understanding that and enjoying that the best I can,” she said.

Lynch and her husband Seth Rollins were the main focus of episode one, as one of the topics covered was Rollins’ storyline injury that was revealed to be a ruse at SummerSlam. After CM Punk defeated Gunther in the main event, Rollins appeared on the entrance ramp, threw his crutches to the ground and cashed in his Money in the Bank contract to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

A breakout star in the entertainment world, Lynch has landed roles in Happy Gilmore 2 and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy in recent months. The reigning Women’s Intercontinental Champion has also previously starred in the hit series Young Rock, which was a dramatised biopic on Dwayne Johnson. Lynch played Cyndi Lauper in the series.

Becky Lynch Discusses Previous WWE Contract Coming To An End

Back in May 2024, Lynch took an extended break from pro wrestling as she let her contract expire. Lynch stayed away from the ring until her return at WrestleMania 41, which saw her and Lyra Valkyria win the Women’s Tag Team Championships. Also in WWE: Unreal, Lynch spoke about the decision to take time away, and how she was burned out:

“I told Hunter, ‘Look, my contract’s up, I wanna take some time off,’ and he said ‘Ok. Well, look, we’ll pause it. We’ll give you a little bit of time and then we’ll renegotiate the contract when you’re ready.’ So, that’s what we did,” she said.

WWE: Unreal has since been renewed for a third season.
