For the first time since 2024, Baron Corbin is back on WWE SmackDown.
The former United States Champion made his surprise return during the July 10 edition of the Friday night show. Interrupting the match between Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes, Corbin attacked both men with his End of Days finisher. Corbin then held Williams’ US Title in the air before walking away, letting the fans know his intentions now he is back in WWE.

Corbin’s contract expired in November 2024 and was not renewed, ending his 11 year tenure with the company. The former US Champion rebranded himself as Bishop Dyer, competing in promotions such as MLW while also having a one-off match in AEW.
Rumours began to circulate that Corbin could be on his way back to WWE after he was stripped of the MLW Tag Titles, but this was denied by the WWE star.
One of the more bizarre rumours concerning Corbin’s return involved a Danhausen storyline. Danhausen was previously seen recovering the gingerbread man costume and looked to bring it back from the dead in the style of Frankenstein. The rumour was that when the gingerbread man would be resurrected, Corbin would be the one in the costume.
