Backstage News On The Hardys Returning To WWE

The Hardys making their return to WWE appears to be more than a nostalgic one-off.

After being challenged by the No Quarter Catch Crew’s Tavion Heights & Myles Borne on the February 18th episode of NXT, TNA Tag Team Champions Matt and Jeff Hardy will be making their return to WWE on the February 25th episode, teaming inside a WWE ring for the first time since 2019. 

Following the announcement, fans in the NXT arena erupted as it signified the legendary tag team would once again return to the company, a testament to their popularity more than 25 years on from their debut. While The Hardys’ appearance on NXT TV is part of the ongoing talent exchange between WWE and TNA, there appears to be more planned for Matt and Jeff Hardy in 2025.

The Hardys To Appear On WWE Main Roster?

Ahead of the appearance, WWE released new merchandise for Matt and Jeff on the online store. In a further update by WrestleVotes, it is noted there is a buzz in the company that their upcoming appearance will be the start of an extended run which would also include a stint on the main roster:

“WWE has dropped a brand new Hardy Boyz shirt ahead of their NXT return tonight. Internally, there’s buzz that this is just the beginning, with creative sources optimistic the legendary duo will have a main roster program sometime this spring / summer.”

In previous interviews, The Hardys have expressed their desire to finish up their careers in WWE and one day be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
