Avery Styles looks to follow in the footsteps of his Hall of Fame father as he is the newest addition to the TNA roster.
Gia Miller introduced Styles during the Lockdown Premium Live Event in Chicago. Dubbed “The Phenomenal Son” by commentary, it was then announced that the second-generation star had signed with the promotion.
Frankie Kazarian then interrupted the segment, stating that if Styles needed someone to trust, he could trust him. Styles’ appearance was announced the day before, leading to speculation that he might be announcing his TNA signing.
Who Is Avery Styles?
Avery is the eldest son of former TNA World Champion and WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles. Avery made his in-ring debut back in June and has competed in a handful of matches since. However, a GCW appearance generated buzz for a different reason at it led to discourse over up-and-coming wrestlers needing to “pay their dues.” Styles was accused of not helping to set up the show, leading to the likes of Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles coming to the defence of the rookie pro wrestler.
AJ Styles’ resume is one that fans are very familiar with. As well as having held the top championships in TNA, WWE and New Japan, Styles is regarded as one of the greatest of this generation from an in-ring standpoint. His matches in TNA with the likes of Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels were integral in the promotion’s growth during the early 2000s.
