A member of the NXT roster has confirmed that a wrestling legend will be one of the many playable characters in WWE 2K26.
On March 4, Lexis King let the fans know on social media that his father, the late Brian Pillman, will be one of the many notable names from the past to be included in the game as part of the series of Ringside Passes set to be released throughout the year. King also asked the fans to make him and his father Tag Team Champions when they purchase the game:
“Ladies and gentlemen, it has been a dream of mine to reclaim my birthright and take what belongs to me in the WWE, and that dream is quickly becoming a reality because I just heard through the grapevine that the WWE 2K26 Ringside Pass number three is going to include the legendary Brian Pillman. That’s right. You’re gonna get to play as me, you’re gonna get to play as my father, and you’re gonna get to play with us as a tag team and of course, you’re gonna make us the Tag Team Champions because it belongs to us and it is my birthright.”
A major part of pro wrestling in the 90s, Pillman had runs in WCW and ECW, along with his WWE rivalry with former Hollywood Blondes tag team partner Steve Austin. Pillman passed away in 1997.
Lexis King previously competed in AEW as Brial Pillman Jr. before signing with WWE and joining the NXT roster. In a previous interview with Chris Van Vliet, Pillman spoke about looking to break away with his own name as opposed to living off of his famous father’s legacy:
“I don’t want to get into the details. But like when I first got there, like everything was just Brian Pillman Jr., yada, yada, yada. Then I had some talks, they gave me the whole, you know, we can’t keep your name kind of talk. I thought, well, I don’t want to make it seem like that’s a bad thing. Honestly, I’ve always sort of fantasised about having my own wrestler name. Because my whole career I’ve had his name. My whole life I’ve had someone else’s name. I’ve been walking around for 30 years with someone else’s name. Brian Pillman is a name that my father made. He made that name on his own. There’s not much I can add to it.”
Brian Pillman Is Latest Legend To Be Added To WWE 2K26 Roster
2K Games is boasting the largest roster in the franchise’s history with the 2026 instalment, which will give players more than 400 wrestlers to choose from. The full roster was released prior to the game’s official release date on March 13, but those who have ordered deluxe editions will be able to get early access.
