Alexa Bliss Bio

From Five Feet of Fury to The Goddess to a multi-time Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss has found success both in the ring and as one of the most popular stars in WWE’s Women’s Division.

  • Date of Birth: 9 August 1991
  • Date of WWE debut: July 19 2016 on WWE SmackDown
  • Finishing moves: Twisted Bliss, Sister Abigail
  • Signature move: Bliss DDT

Unlike many WWE stars, Bliss had no prior wrestling experience before being signed to the company in 2013. Instead, Bliss’ sports background was in track and field and gymnastics from her time in high school, along with also competing in the Arnold Classic Bodybuilding contest.

Although Bliss made her televised in-ring debut on the April 24 edition of NXT, her first wrestling appearance came at WrestleMania 30, where Bliss, Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks were extras for Triple H’s entrance prior to his match with Daniel Bryan.

Following a series of defeats on NXT, Bliss found 2 allies in the form of Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy. At TakeOver: Unstoppable, Bliss provided a distraction to allow Blake and Murphy to retain the NXT Tag Titles, turning heel for the first time in her career. Later awarded an opportunity at NXT Women’s Champion Bayley, Bliss lost the match where Blake and Murphy were also banned from ringside. Shortly afterward, the trio was disbanded when Bliss and Blake abandoned Murphy.

Finishing up in NXT in 2016, Bliss was called up to the main roster in the 2016 draft. Just a few months after her SmackDown debut, Bliss defeated inaugural SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch in a tables match at TLC to capture her first Women’s Championship. After losing the championship to Naomi, who then vacated the title due to injury, Bliss once again defeated Lynch to begin her second reign, then losing the title back to Naomi a second time at WrestleMania 33.

Drafted to Raw in 2017, Bliss defeated Bayley at Payback to win the Raw Women’s Championship, and became the first woman to win both titles. After losing the title to Sasha Banks at SummerSlam, Bliss won the title back just 8 days later.

After defending the title in the first Women’s Elimination Chamber match in 2018, Bliss entered a feud with former best friend Nia Jax, which was centred around Bliss bullying Jax over her weight. Jax won her first championship by defeating Bliss on The Grandest Stage, but wouldn’t be without the championship for long. After winning the Money in the Bank contract later in the year, Bliss crashed the Women’s Championship match between Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey by cashing in her contract to win back the title. At SummerSlam, Bliss lost the title to Rousey.

In 2019, Bliss found a new ally in the form of Nikki Cross, leading to the two capturing the Women’s Tag Team Championships. After losing the titles to The Kabuki Warriors, Bliss and Cross won the titles back at WrestleMania 36, which had no fans in attendance due to the COVID pandemic.

By late 2020, Alexa Bliss underwent a drastic transformation as she aligned herself with Bray Wyatt and his “Fiend” persona, evolving into a darker, more supernatural version of herself. This character shift, which also saw the introduction of her doll Lilly, saw her matches being increasingly built around psychological elements rather than in-ring moves. Bliss also became invovled in the ongoing feud between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt at this time.

After a brief hiatus, Bliss returned to regular competition in 2022, participating in Money in the Bank and other notable matches while also phasing out the more supernatural traits.

In early 2023, Alexa Bliss competed at the Royal Rumble, where she challenged Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship. After that event, Bliss announced that she was pregnant with her first child.

At the start of 2025, Alexa Bliss made her long-awaited return to WWE at the Women’s Royal Rumble as entrant #21, receiving one of the loudest ovations of the night. Finding success in the tag team division once more, Bliss teamed with Charlotte Flair to defeat Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, capturing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
