AJ Lee Will Be In Next Season Of WWE: Unreal

AJ Lee has confirmed her participation in season 3 of the docuseries WWE: Unreal.

While appearing on State Of Mind with Maurice Benard, Lee said that she would be featuring in the next season of the Netflix show while discussing her other non-wrestling projects:

“Now I’m trying to, the balancing act of trying to fit two careers into one life has been interesting. I spent the last 10 months, eight months on Raw on Netflix. I’m going to be doing Unreal, the documentary series for WWE, also on and then I’m still writing and producing. I have a production company called Scrappy Heart Productions and our goal is to just make underdogs the stars of their own stories. And we’re right now producing our first feature film and the short film version of it went to Tribeca last year and did a film festival circuit and did it really well. So we’re making the feature length version of that and we have a bunch of other projects in the works that we love and we’re so passionate about including comic books.”

“We’re about to announce a new one soon. Maybe in a couple months we can say what that’s about. But we’re working hard on that one. So, I just to me it’s all different parts of the same muscle. It’s all storytelling and creating.”

WWE: Unreal Season 3 was confirmed in the season 2 finale. John Cena’s retirement year will also be one of the topics covered as part of the series.

AJ Lee To Tell Story Behind Pro-Wrestling Return On WWE: Unreal

Lee made her return to wrestling after more than a decade away in the summer of 2025. Following her husband, CM Punk, having issues with Seth Rollins and his wife, Becky Lynch, Punk called in Lee as back-up to take on the couple. Lee’s return match saw her team with Punk to defeat Rollins and Lynch at WrestlePalooza.

From there, Lee competed in the WarGames match at Survivor Series, once again picking up a victory over Lynch. At Elimination Chamber, Lee defeated Lynch to win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, her first title in more than 10 years. Following a successful title defence over Bayley on an episode of Raw, Lee dropped the title back to Lynch at WrestleMania 42.

There has currently been no word on plans for Lee to make her return to WWE.
