AEW Star Pulled From Continental Classic, Replacement Named

AEW Continental Classic

One member of the AEW roster’s time in the Continental Classic has come to a premature end.

November 27th saw the 2024 AEW Continental Classic begin with 12 wrestlers looking to emerge victorious in the round robin tournament. During his opening match on Collision on November 30th, Juice Robinson lost to Will Ospreay. Unfortunately, after the match it was reported that Robinson suffered an injury that was suspected to be a broken foot or ankle. With Robinson set to compete in at least 5 matches per the rules of the tournament, there were concerns for his status moving forward.

As announced by Tony Khan on social media, Robinson is no longer able to compete in the tournament and Komander has been announced as the replacement. All Gold League matches have been adjusted accordingly:

Due to injury, Juice Robinson cannot complete the #AEWContinentalClassic. Aiming to prove that he can hang with the world’s very best, high flying rising star @KomandercrMX will join the field as Gold League first alternate, + the upcoming schedule will be adjusted accordingly.

AEW Continental Classic Continues On Dynamite

The tournament will continue on Dynamite, Rampage and Collision tapings moving forward and will culminate at the Worlds End pay-per-view on December 28th. 2 more Continental Classic matches have been confirmed for the next taping.

The following matches will take place on Dynamite:

  • Continental Classic Gold League: Brody King vs. Claudio Castagnoli
  • Continental Classic Blue League: Kyle Fletcher vs. Shelton Benjamin

Features of Wrestling would like to wish Juice Robinson a full and speedy recovery.
