The viewership for the debut episode of AEW Rampage has been revealed. On average, 740,000 people watched the August 13th edition of All Elite Wrestling’s newest show. The numbers have been obtained by Brandon Thurston at Wrestlenomics:
AEW Rampage on Friday was watched by 740,000 viewers on average. 396,000 were aged 18-49 (0.30 rating).

Smackdown on Fox was watched by 2,084,000. In 18-49, 746,000 (0.58 rating) watched.

All things considered, this is a strong showing for the debut episode of Rampage. Firstly, AEW faced strong competition on Friday night with SmackDown being established for over a year now. There has also been a strong showing in the 18-49 demographic, with a 0.3 rating in the age bracket.
NXT is currently regarded as the biggest competition for AEW in terms of on-screen programming. It should be noted that the debut edition of Rampage was very close to the established NXT brand.
While the debut edition of AEW’s newest show has recorded a relatively strong rating, the August 20th edition is expected to be more newsworthy. The First Dance edition of rampage has been heavily speculated to feature an appearance by CM Punk in some capacity on Friday 20th.

The biggest talking point of AEW Rampage was a title change in the opening match of the show. Christian Cage defeated Kenny Omega to become the new IMPACT World Champion.
