AEW Dynamite’s rating have received a significant increase for the 14th April edition. 1.219 million people tuned into TNT to watch Dynamite, with a 0.44 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
The rating is significant for two reasons. Firstly, this is the second highest AEW television rating in the history of the programme. The only episode to exceed this rating was the debut episode, which drew 1.4 million viewers.
Secondly, this is the first episode of AEW Dynamite to run truly unopposed on Wednesdays. Moving forward, NXT will air their weekly show on Tuesday nights. Also in the past, various other sporting events have ran on Wednesdays, which would also affect AEW ratings.
By contrast, NXT’s debut on Tuesday drew in 805,000 viewers. Now that each show is not running on the same night, it will be interesting to see how the ratings vary week to week.
