A historic episode of AEW Dynamite with multiple title matches and more taking place on the show.
Titled Spring BreakThru, the show marked the 289th edition of Dynamite, overtaking WCW Nitro as the longest running episode of wrestling TV on the TNT/TBS Networks. The show saw the continuation of the Owen Hart Men’s and Women’s Tournaments along with the Trios Titles being defended in the main event.
Excalibur and Tony Schiavone were the announce team for the show.
The Following Results Took Place On AEW Dynamite:
- It was announced that as HOOK was attacked by The Death Riders then Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata would take on the Trios Champions regardless. Taz was not on commentary for this reason.
- Mercedes Mone defeated Athena in the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament to advance to the finals.
- Adam Page defeated Josh Alexander in the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Alexander was revealed to be the wildcard in the tournament and made his AEW debut on the show. Afterr the match, Alexander struck Page to allow Kyle Fletcher to take advantage.
- The Hurt Syndicate defeated Gates of Agony to retain the Tag Team Championships. After the match, MJF once again tried to persuade the group to let him join but was rejected for a second time.
- Will Ospreay defeated Konosuke Takeshita in the Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
- Powerhouse Hobbs was revealed to be the third man in The Opps to replace HOOK. The Opps defeated The Death Riders to become the new Trios Champions.
