Two title matches and more took place on the September 3 episode of AEW Dynamite as the build to All Out continued.
Given another opportunity at the TBS Championship, Alex Windsor faced Mercedes Mone on the show after coming up short back at Forbidden Door. Additionally, an all-star 8-man tag team match took place and Gabe Kidd called out Darby Allin inside the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia as AEW’s stint in the legendary venue continues.
Esxcalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz were on commentary for the show.
AEW Dynamite September 3 Results:
- Gabe Kidd interrupted Excalibur’s introductions and called out Darby Allin, who launched a surprise attack on the Nottingham native. Wheeler Yuta attacked Allin, but was fought off. Allin looked to attack Kidd with a thumbtack skateboard, but the rest of The Deathriders turned up as back up. The lights went out and Hook looked set to make the save, but The Opps rushed to the ring with Willow Nightingale and a mass brawl ensued. The camera cut to the back where Kidd attempted to attack Allin with a hammer. Allin put Kidd in a body bag and dragged him away in a truck.
- Mercedes Mone defeated Alex Windsor to retain the TBS Championship. A retuning Riho stood tall over Mone after the match.
- Mark Briscoe defeated Lance Archer.
- Bandido and Brody King defeated Claudio Cstagnoli and Wheeler Yuta to retain the Tag Team Championships.
- Adam Copeland and Christian Cage brawled with FTR until both teams were separated.
- Kyle Flecther, Josh Alexander and The Young Bucks defeated Kenny Omega, Adam Page and JetSpeed. A further beatdown on Page and Omega ensued after the bell and The Don Callis Family stood tall to close out the show.
