AEW All Out 2025 will now happen earlier in the day, meaning that the majority of the show will not be fighting against WWE.
The landmark AEW PPV was announced earlier in the year to take place on Saturday, September 20 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. However, following All Elite Wrestling confirming its show, rival promotion WWE announced on August 20 that Wrestlepalooza would also take place on September 20 and would kick off the ESPN era for Premium Live Events in the United States. With the timing of the show being pointed out by fans, September 20 looked to be the day when an AEW PPV went head-to-head with a main roster WWE PLE for the first time ever, having only previously competed with NXT shows. However, following the latest update, AEW has shifted its start time.
As first reported by Fightful on September 3, All Out is now scheduled to start at 3 pm Eastern time, meaning that most of the show should be over by the time that Wrestlepalooza begins at 7 pm. It is also noted that All Out was originally set to start at 8 pm, meaning fans would have to choose which show they wanted to watch live. With an earlier start time of 8 pm in the UK, this also means that All Out could see a spike in international viewership.
It is also noted in the report that the decision to change the start time for the show has been under consideration for a few weeks:
“Sources that Fightful Select spoke to in AEW said that the afternoon PPV success of Forbidden Door helped contribute to the decision, which had been discussed for weeks.”
What Has Been Announced For AEW All Out 2025?
At the time of writing, the only match that has been made official for All Out is Christian Cage and Cope vs. FTR. However, with 3 episodes of Dynamite to go before the show, more matches are set to be announced very soon.
The only match that has been announced for Wrestlepalooza is IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer for the vacant Women’s World Championship. However, it is also expected that John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar will be added to the card soon, along with CM Punk and a returning AJ Lee facing Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.
