Two title matches and more took place on the February 11 edition of AEW Dynamite, which was also the final show before Grand Slam: Australia.
Following his shock debut the previous month, Tommaso Ciampa has continued to reign as the company’s TNT Champion. In what was his Dynamite in-ring debut, Ciampa faced off against former title holder Kyle Fletcher. Additionally, Kris Statlander put her Women’s Championship on the line against Thekla in a strap match and new number one contenders were crowned.
AEW Dynamite Results February 11:
- Kenny Omega and Swerve Strickland kicked off the show. Strickland questioned if Omega was going to use his EVP powers to skip to the front of the line, while Omega said that his goal was to show Strickland he is better than him. Both men came to blows in the segment.
- Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and PAC defeated Josh Alesander, Konosuke Takeshita and Mark Davis.
- Mark Fletcher defeated Tommaso Ciampa to become the new TNT Champion. After the match, Mark Briscoe said he wanted one more opportunity at the title. Fletcher agreed, and a ladder match was made official for Grand Slam: Australia.
- Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong defeated Clark Connors and Daniel Garcia. After the match, Toni Storm claimed that she was ready to pur her hair on the line at Grand Slam: Australia, which led to Mina Shirakawa being attacked by The Deathriders. Shirakawa’s ponytail was cut during the assault.
- The Young Bucks defeated The Rascalz and Private Party to become the new number one contenders to the Tag Team Championships. FTR mocked The Bucks after the match, but were laid out with Superkicks.
- Thekla defeated Kris Statlander in a strap match to become the new Women’s Champion. Interference from Triangle of Madness helped to seal the victory for Thekla.
