The road to AEW Dynasty continues on AEW Dynamite.

With the next pay-per-view just a couple of weeks away, more matches were announced for the pay-per-view, which will be the first time that a PPV will take place between Revolution and Double or Nothing. Announced ahead of time were the battle of Wills, Chris Jericho calling out Hook and more.

A few days before the show went on the air, CM Punk made some negative comments about AEW and Tony Khan. These comments were addressed on the show.

The Following Results Took Place On AEW Dynamite:

  • Adam Copeland opened the show. With some initial troubles with microphone feedback, Copeland cut a passionate promo about AEW and professional wrestling. Praising all wrestling, Copeland would introduce Will Ospreay.
  • Will Ospreay defeated Will Hobbs
  • Bryan Danielson defeated Lance Archer
  • Jericho called out Hook, who stated that he has booked them a match on Collision, but will be keeping an eye on Jericho throughout.
  • Daddy Ass defeated Jay White via disqualification. White used a low blow.
  • Mercedes Mone stated she will challenge for the TBS Championship at Double or Nothing
  • The Young Bucks defeated Best Friends to advance in the AEW Tag Team Championship tournament
  •  Thunder Rosa defeated Mariah May
  • Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland signed the contract to make their match at AEW Dynasty official. Joe left Strickland in a bloody mess to close out the segment.
