The September 27th episode of AEW Dynamite was broadcast live from the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. This was the final episode of Dynamite before the inaugural WrestleDream pay-per-view.
The following results took place on AEW Dynamite:
- Rey Fenix defeated Jeff Jarrett to retain the AEW International Championship
- Don Callis and Konosuke Takeshita travelled to Tokyo to target Kota Ibushi
- Nick Jackson defeated Brian Cage and Claudio Castagnoli to be the next challenger for the International Championship. The title match will take place on October 3rd
- Adam Cole and MJF come to the ring. Cole stated he required surgery so will need to relinquish the ROH Tag Titles. MJF refused to do so and will defend the championships against The Righteous 2 on 1 at WrestleDream.
- Orange Cassidy defeated Austin Gunn, Nick Jackson and Penta El Zero Miedo
- Julia Hart defeated Willow Nightingale
