AEW presented the final build to WrestleDream on the show and was forced to alter matches. Adam Cole is unable to compete due to suffering a broken ankle, putting him on the shelf until further notice. Cole and MJF were meant to defend the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championships against The Righteous, so MJF has made the decision to go it alone.
The end of the show would also end on a cliffhanger as Jay White was beaten up by multiple masked men, one of which was wearing MJF’s devil mask.
