A huge in-ring debut and more are set for the October 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, the first show following WrestleDream.
The rumours were confirmed at WrestleDream as Ilja Dragunov made his AEW debut at the pay-per-view. Dragunov left WWE earlier in the year and has been a free agent since. The Mad Dragon was long rumoured to become All Elite, and the fans got their wish at the show. Following WrestleDream, Tony Khan announced that Dragunov would be making his in-ring debut on the next episode of Dynamite. The night before the show, Dragunov’s opponent was revealed to be “Speedball” Mike Bailey.
With this being the first show following WrestleDream, the events of the pay-per-view will be the main focus. The main event of WrestleDream saw Will Ospreay defend his World Championship in a Clockwork Carnage match. One title change took place on the show, which saw Adam Page and Brodido defeat The New Level and Swerve Strickland to win back the Trios Championship.
Following Clockwork Carnage, Adam Copeland congratulated Will Ospreay on the victory, but made it clear that he is coming for the title. Cope and Ospreay will team up on Dynamite to take on Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight of The Don Callis Family.
Maya World is also set to face Queen Aminata. The winner will receive a future opportunity at TBS Champion Persephone.
