AEW Dynamite 5th Anniversary Results October 2nd

AEW Dynamite celebrated a major milestone on October 2nd.

Airing live from Pittsburgh, the show marked 5 years since the first episode of Dynamite back in 2019. Promising a major night of action, three championships were on the line with multiple dream matche,s including Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet and Bryan Danielson vs. Kazuchika Okada. Additionally, with a major overrun advertised ahead of time, fans expected something big.

This was also the first episode of Dynamite since AEW officially announced that they had secured a new media rights deal and would remain on WBD for the foreseeable future.

The Following Results Took Place On AEW Dynamite:

  • Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet first ended in a draw but then ended in disqualification when Konosuke Takeshita interfered. A 3 way match was later booked for WrestleDream
  • Chris Jericho challenged Mark Briscoe to a match for the ROH World Championship, which was accepted for WrestleDream
  • Adam Page defeated Juice Robinson
  • MVP was seen giving Mercedes Mone a business card backstage
  • Britt Baker defeated Serena Deeb
  • Private Party defeated The Iron Savages in a very quick match. After the match they challenged The Young Bucks to a tag team title match. The Bucks and Jack Perry attacked Private Party but Katsuyori Shibata made the save
  • MVP introduced his newest signing Shelton Benjamin
  • Bryan Danielson defeated Kazuchika Okada to retain the World Championship. The match went more than 20 minutes so Danielson did not win the Continental Championship. Jon Moxley and the rest of the BCC attacked Danielson after the match but Wheeler Yuta made the save. Yuta and Danielson will face Pac and Castagnoli next week
