AEW Collision Cut Short Due To Technical Issues

AEW Collision

Fans who tuned in to watch the latest episode of AEW Collision saw the show end much earlier than expected, with technical issues being the reason for the change in schedule.

The May 17th broadcast, which was taped ahead of time, ended 30 minutes earlier than normal on both the Max feed and TNT. A graphic first flashed up on screen on the East Coast feed to let viewers know that the show had ended abruptly, which was followed by the film Black Adam airing half an hour earlier instead:

“Due to technical difficulties, AEW Collision is not airing tonight,” it read. “Please check allelitewrestling.com for wrestling updates.”

In an ironic twist, the film Black Adam, which replaced the final 30 minutes of Collision, sees WWE legend The Rock as the lead character.

A few hours later, viewers watching the show on the West Coast feed also experienced the same issue. Taking to social media to provide an update, Tony Khan apologised for the issues and promised to get the full show on the Max streaming service as soon as possible:

There are ongoing transmission issues on tonight’s Saturday #AEWCollision, I’m so sorry, we all were expecting a full version to play on @TNTdrama West, but right now an ongoing technical issue that all believed to be fixed is still affecting the transmission of the final half hour even on TNT West. We will get the full show up on @StreamOnMax asap, and I’m very sorry for this hassle!

For international viewers, clips from the match have also not been uploaded to the promotion’s YouTube channel at the time of writing.

Which Matches DId Not Air On AEW Collision?

The latest episode of Collision continued to focus on the build to Double or Nothing as multiple matches were added to the pay-per-view card for May 25th. The two matches that were missed were Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara vs. Lio Rush Action Andretti in a Tag Team Championship number one contenders match along with Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Wheeler Yuta in the main event. As the show was pre-taped, it was known that Guevara and Rhodes won the tag match and would challenge The Hurt Syndicate for the Tag Titles at Double or Nothing.
