Former X-Division Champion Ace Austin will be leaving TNA soon as his contract has come to an end.
The news was broken by former TNA President Scott D’Amore in his column for Uncrowned, where it was noted that Austin’s departure was amicable and that he is ready for the next chapter in his pro-wrestling career:
“Nothing has been said publicly, but Ace Austin’s contract with TNA has come to term. Ace deciding to leave is amicable — he’s been there since he was barely out of his teens and he’s ready to step up. I signed him, and everything he’s shown since confirmed that Ace Austin becoming a massive star is, indeed, “inevitable.”
He’s ready for that next chapter. I think it is time Ace Austin goes all in on proving he’s one of the best.”
Austin’s final match was against Mustafa Ali on the May 22nd episode of Impact. According to a follow-up report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the match was the former X-Division Champion’s final appearance in the company, meaning that he will not be appearing at the Under Siege pay-per-view on May 23rd or at the tapings the following day.
Signing with the promotion back in 2019, Austin found success in the singles and tag division with 3 reigns as Tag Team Champion alongside Chris Bey and 3 reigns with the X-Division Title.
Ace Austin Becomes Latest TNA Departure
2025 has already seen multiple former champions leave TNA to seek other opportunities. Along with Jordynne Grace joining WWE full-time at this year’s Royal Rumble, Josh Alexander signed with AEW in April.
At the time of wirting, it is unknown which company Austin will sign with, but as he is a free agent, he can join any promotion as soon as possible.
