Mercedes Mone may be out of action for some time.
The former IWGP Women’s Champion suffered an injury while competing in the main event of the Resurgence pay-per-view, where Mone faced off against Willow Nightingale in a match to crown the inaugural Strong Women’s Championship.
The spot in question occurred when Mone fell from the top rope and landed awkwardly on the floor. Despite the fall, Mone would continue and would finish the match, which was won by Nightingale.
Mercedes Mone was carried to the back by medical staff following the conclusion of the title match. As reported by PWInsider, it appears that Mone has suffered a broken ankle.
After the show, Mone would provide an update on social media. The NJPW and Stardom wrestler posted a picture of herself in a hospital bed, stating that this was not the way that she wanted the night to go, then promising that she would be back better than ever.
