Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are now 2 time AEW Tag Team Champions, defeating The Gunn Club on the April 5th episode of Dynamite to capture the title for the second time in their careers.
The match had the added stipulation of if FTR did not win the match, their careers in All Elite Wrestling would be over. With Dax Harwood making multiple statements online that his contract status is uncertain, there was a lot of intrigue as to how this match would play out.
In the match, Dax Harwood would run wild with the hot tag, taking down The Gunns despite the numbers disadvantage. Cash Wheeler would make his way back to the ring, aiding his tag team partner to remain on offence.
The closing moments of the match would see FTR hit The Big Rig on Austin Gunn, but Colten would drag the referee out of the ring to prevent the 3 count. Austin Gunn then hit a blatant low blow, desperate for the disqualification, but Cash Wheeler prevented the referee to make the call.
The end of the match would see FTR simultaneously roll up each of The Gunn Club to win the match and the championships.
The victory ends The Gunns title reign at 56 days. The first reign occurred at the 2020 All Out pay-per-view, where FTR defeated Adam Page and Kenny Omega to win the titles.
Also on the show, Jay White would make a shock appearance on Dynamite, and AEW President Tony Khan would announce a UK show for the promotion.
