Satnam Singh On Why He Signed With AEW Over WWE

Satnam Singh is one of All Elite Wrestling’s newest signings, making a newsworthy debut in the process. However, there was a point where Singh could have made his wrestling debut in a different promotion.

Described as a “One in a Billion” star in a try-out video, the former basketball player has undertaken practice drills in the WWE Performance Center.

Satnam Singh recently spoke to Ruby Arora about his decision to sign with AEW over WWE. Singh would mention that he feels that being in AEW will make more history for India as opposed to being in WWE:

“I had given trials for WWE as well, and I liked it very much as well,” continued Singh. “I liked AEW as well. AEW is like brand new, it’s only been a couple of years, and it’s really fire. I thought that if I go to AEW, I would be the first again. The first wrestler from India. I will make [more] history for India in AEW. If I go to WWE, that would be amazing, but amazing why? Because they already have Indian people over there. They have the Indian wrestler. Why don’t I go start there, where they have no Indian guys, and create history again after reaching there. Not for me, for the Indian wrestlers, for everyone.”

Following Samoa Joe defeating Minoru Suzuki to become the new Ring of Honor Television Champion. Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt would appear on the entrance ramp shortly after the victory and would confront Samoa Joe. The lights would go out in the arena and come back up to reveal Satnam Singh standing in the ring, who would attack the new champion to stand tall at the end of the April 13th episode of AEW Dynamite.
