WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley has been told by doctors that he will never be able to wrestle again.
The multiple time tag team champion recently underwent back surgery, in which the L4, L5 and L6 sections of the spine had to be fused together. D-Von has stated in an Instagram post that the surgery took longer than expected but he feel like a new man.
D-Von goes on to explain that while he can run, jump and defeat his son at basketball, wrestling will not be a possibility. This is becasue if the Hall of Famer takes any more damage to the back, further surgery will be required. It should be noted that wile an in-ring return is not possible, D-Von has also said that a return to wrestling was never planned.
D-Von Dudley is widely regarded as one of the greatest tag team wrestlers in history, aligning with half brother Bubba Ray and known collectively as The Dudley Boyz. The legendary tag team captured the titles in ECW, TNA, New Japan and WWE, with over 20 reigns across the promotions. D-Von’s final match took place at the 2016 SummerSlam pay-per-view, in which The Dudley Boyz lost to the team of Sami Zayn and Neville.
Recently, D-Von Dudley has served as a backstage producer for WWE. Both D-Von and brother Bubba Ray were inducted in the 2018 Hall of Fame class.
