Brian Kendrick Granted WWE Release – Will Appear On AEW Dynamite

Former WWE star Brian Kendrick has been granted his release from WWE. Kendrick will also be making his AEW debut on the February 2nd episode of Dynamite competing against Jon Moxley.

As reported by Fightful Select on Tuesday February 1st, Brian Kendrick is no longer under contract with WWE, following asking for his release back in December 2021. The report also states that there would be a possibility that the former Cruiserweight Champion would be at the Dynamite show in Chicago, but the reason for the appearance was unknown. Shortly after the Fightful Select report broke, AEW’s social media posted the above graphic, which shows Kendrick facing Jon Moxley in what will be Mox’s first match on Dynamite in 2022.

Brian Kendrick was frequently involved with the producing aspect of WWE prior to the release, seemingly stepping away from the ring. The final appearance of the former WWE star took place in December 2021, where Kendrick was thrown down a flight of stairs on NXT by Harland.

Brian Kendrick may not be the only former WWE star making an AEW debut on February 2nd, as multiple former WWE stars are now free agents.
