All Elite Wrestling president Tony Khan has announced that a buy in will take place before the October 15th Rampage, and will feature a major match. Recent AEW signee Bryan Danielson will face New Japan legend Minoru Suzuki in a one hour special taking place before Rampage.
Two matches have been announced for the buy in edition of Rampage, with the other match seeing Bobby Fish face Lee Moriarty in singles competition. The announcement of the buy in and the huge match taking place is seemingly countering the move made by WWE. It was recently announced that the October 15th SmackDown will be super sized, with a extra 30 minutes of programming taking place. The extra half hour will be commercial free and will run directly against All Elite Wrestling.
To combat this, Khan’s buy in announcement states that it will take place at 9pm ET, which will directly compete with the first hour of SmackDown.
This is not the first time that Bryan Danielson and Minoru Suzuki have faced each other. Suzuki and Danielson faced each other at a New Japan event in 2004. On social media, Bryan has recalled this match and is very excited about the rematch.
The matches due to take place on AEW Rampage are as follows:
- CM Punk vs. Matt Sydal
- Ruby Soho vs. The Bunny
- Men of the Year and Junior dos Santos [Dan Lambert and Jorge Masvidal will be at ringside] vs. Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, and Sammy Guevara
