WWE Wrestlepalooza Preview: The ESPN Era Begins

Officially kicking off the ESPN era, WWE Wrestlepalooza will see big stars returning, a new champion guaranteed, and more!

After it was announced that ESPN will be the home for WWE Premium Live Events in the United States moving forward, Wrestlepalooza will be the first show to air on the new streaming platform that was launched in late August. Looking to kick off the new era in a big way, the promotion has loaded up the card with 2 stars stepping back into the ring for the first time in years.

After Becky Lynch was responsible for CM Punk failing to win back the World Heavyweight Championship from Seth Rollins at Clash in Paris, Punk found an ally to fight the power couple in the form of his wife and former Divas Champion AJ Lee. With Lee making her first WWE appearance in over a decade earlier in the month, her first match will see her team with Punk to take on Rollins and Lynch in Indianapolis.

Following his return at SummerSlam, which generated discourse one way or the other, Brock Lesnar will also be in action for the first time in over 2 years as he will renew his rivalry with John Cena. With this being the last time that Cena and Lesnar will face off, Cena is looking for another major victory over The Beast.

As Naomi vacated the Women’s World Championship due to pregnancy, IYO SKY and Stephanie Vaquer will face off on the show, with the winner becoming the new champion.

The Line-Up For WWE Wrestlepalooza Is As Follows:

WWE Wrestlepalooza will air live on ESPN in the United States and on Netflix internationally on September 20.
