WWE SummerSlam Event Cancelled

Which Match Will Headline Night One Of WWE SummerSlam?

An official WWE event set to take place over SummerSlam weekend has been cancelled just over a week before the event.

On July 25, fans first noticed that the “WWE Late Night” with Tony Hinchcliffe show was listed as cancelled on Ticketmaster’s website. The show, which was originally set to take place on SummerSlam Saturday on August 2, was advertised multiple times on Raw and SmackDown and was also promoted as an exclusive, non-televised event that would not be released for the world to see.

Following the Ticketmaster update, Mike Johnson of PWInsider confirmed that WWE Late Night had been cancelled, stating that ticket sales for the event had been “light.”

Hinchliffe was previously the host of The Roast of WrestleMania, which took place after the second night of the show concluded. Although phones were meant to be locked away, some footage from the event did emerge with Hinchliffe and numerous WWE stars making inappropriate comments at the show. When it was announced that Hinchcliffe would be returning to a WWE event, many let their opinion be known that they did not want to see him make a comeback to the wrestling world.
