An emotional tribute, the build to SummerSlam continued and more took place on the July 25 WWE SmackDown.
As this was the first WWE broadcast since the passing of Hulk Hogan, the show opened with a 10-bell salute to The Immortal One and a video package documenting the life and career of the Hall of Famer.
Additionally, Alexa Bliss was in action against Roxanne Perez and The Wyatt Sicks defended their Tag Team Championships against Andrade and Rey Fenix.
Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were on commentary for the show.
WWE SmackDown Results July 25:
- Triple H, multiple legends and the roster gathered on stage to pay tribute to Hulk Hogan. A 10-bell salute and video followed to showcase the highlights from Hogan’s career.
- As commentary hyped up the show, Logan Paul interrupted. Paul joked that he thought the fans were chanting “Thank you Logan” as opposed to “Thank you Hogan.” Paul continued to run down Cleveland before calling out Jelly Roll. Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton eventually joined the duo and a brawl ensued. Orton and Jelly Roll stood tall to close out the segment.
- Roxanne Perez defeated Alexa Bliss. At one point Bliss was busted open in the match and was bleeding when it was over.
- Jade Cargill defeated Chelsea Green. The Secret Hervice attacked Cargill after until Tiffany Stratton made the save.
- Cody Rhodes appeared live to talk about Hulk Hogan and his match against John Cena at SummerSlam.
- Jacob Fatu defeated The Miz. Solo Sikoa and co attacked Fatu after the match until Jimmy Uso made the save.
- The Wyatt Sicks vs. Andrade and Rey Fenix for the Tag Team Championships ended in DQ when Nikki Cross interfered. A massive tag team brawl followed until Nick Aldis announced that a 6 team TLC match would take place at SummerSlam.
