WWE SmackDown Results February 21st: The Rock Returns And More!

The Rock made his presence felt and delivered a huge announcement on the February 21st episode of WWE SmackDown.

Ahead of the show in New Orleans, it was announced that The Rock would be returning to WWE in what was his first appearance since NXT New Year’s Evil at the start of the year. Making his visit a historic one, Rock delivered some big news for the fans upon his return.

Additionally, Drew McIntyre looked to build momentum to his Elimination Chamber match as he took on Jey Uso.

Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were the announce team for the show.

The Following Results Took Place On WWE SmackDown:

  • Cody Rhodes was seen arriving at the venue and was informed by General Manager Nick Aldis that his previously advertised 6 man tag match was off, nothing that it was a decision from The Rock. Aldis also stated that Rhodes would meet Rock in the ring later that night.
  • Jimmy Uso defeated Drew McIntyre, leading to McIntyre to attack Uso after the bell.
  • The Miz and Carmelo Hayes defeated R-Truth and LA Knight after Shinsuke Nakamura provided interference.
  • Tiffany Stratton defeated Candice LeRae with Charlotte Flair on commentary. Stratton was attacked by Nia Jax after the match leading to Trish Stratus making the save. However, both Stratton and Stratus were taken out for the second consecutive week.
  • An advertised match between Naomi and Liv Morgan did not happen as Naomi was taken out by Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
  • The Rock made his return and announced that WrestleMania 42 would be taking place in New Orleans.Rock then called out Cody Rhodes and asked him to be “his champion” in a call back to Rock being a corporate champion back in 1998.
  • DIY vs. Pretty Deadly ended in a no contest when The Street Profits interfered. Motor City Machine Guns attempted to make the save but Street Profits also took them out.
  • Damian Preist and Braun Strowman defeated Solo SIkoa and Jacob Fatu.
