A title match and more took place on the December 19 episode of WWE SmackDown, as the countdown to Christmas continues.
With The Wyatt Sicks and The MFTs continuing to be at odds over the past few weeks, The Wyatt Sicks put their Tag Team Championships on the line against Solo Sikoa’s faction in the main event. Additionally, Giulia was in action against Alba Fyre, and Ilja Dragunov teamed with Carmelo Hayes to take on DIY.
Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett were on commentary for the show.
WWE SmackDown Results December 19:
- An opening video package once again recapped John Cena’s last match from the previous week.
- Damian Priest cut a promo on Aleister Black and Zelina Vega. Black and Vega attacked Priest and drove him through a table. Backstage, the assault continued.
- Nia Jax & Lash Legend defeated The Kabuki Warriors. After the match, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss made their way to the ring to stand tall.
- WWE replayed the Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes altercation that aired on social media.
- The Miz demanded a match with Joe Hendry for next week, which Nick Aldis agreed to.
- Giulia defeated Alba Fyre, and stared down Chelsea Green after the match.
- Cody Rhodes addressed his pull apart with Drew McIntyre, and agreed to the conditions that he wouldn’t touch McIntyre until their title match.
- Ilja Dragunov & Carmelo Hayes defeated DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa)
- MFTs (JC Mateo & Tonga Loa) vs. Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy) went to a no-contest. A brawl ensued to close out the show.
Also on December 19, WWE pre-taped the December 22 Raw and the December 26 SmackDown, meaning that spoilers for the shows are now in effect.
