Royce Keys made his long-awaited TV debut and more on the April 10 episode of WWE SmackDown, which was also the penultimate show before Wrestlemania 42.
Royce Key has been notably absent from TV screens since he made his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble back in January. 3 months later, the former AEW star competed in his first match on the blue brand.
Additionally, Randy Orton, Pat McAfee and Cody Rhodes all appeared live to continue the build to their Mania match, along with Sami Zayn and Trick Williams, also addressing what happened the previous week.
WWE SmackDown Results April 10:
- After a recap of the Cody Rhodes attack from last week, Rhodes and Jelly Roll were told by Nick Aldis they couldn’t get physical tonight.
- Rhea Ripley opened the show and spoke about Jade Cargill attacking her best friend, IYO SKY. SKY interrupted and said that she wanted to face Cargill tonight. Aldis made the match official for the main event.
- Alexa Bliss defeated Bayley.
- Royce Keys defeated Berto in his SmackDown debut.
- Pat McAfee appeared live, insulted the fans and called out CM Punk’s promo from Raw earlier in the week. Rhodes interrupted and told McAfee to go home. Rhodes looked like he was set to attack McAfee, but Orton appeared on the big screen and revealed that he had attacked Jelly Roll backstage. McAfee further distracted Rhodes, leading to another attack from Orton.
- Tama Tonga defeated Jacob Fatu thanks to an assist from Drew McIntyre.
- Sami Zayn appeared live and admitted he didn’t know why the fans soured on him. Trick Williams and Lil Yachty interrupted, and Zayn promised Williams he was infor the fight of his life at WrestleMania.
- Trick Williams defeated Matt Cardona. Lil Yacty was taken out by a Helluva Kick from Zayn.
- Danhausen defeated Kit Wilson.
- Jade Cargill defeated IYO SKY.
In other news, NXT recently hosted a non-televised event in Utica, New York.
