WWE SmackDown aired live from Glasgow, Scotland on June 14th.
Presenting the final build to Clash at the Castle, the show aired live from the OVO Hydro in front of a packed Scottish crowd. With Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles set to clash in an “I Quit” match at the PLE, both men were in attendance at the event.
Additionally, with Kevin Owens still having an issue with The Bloodline, the group’s defacto leader Solo Sikoa looked to take care of the Owens problem on the show. Grayson Waller also presented The Grayson Waller Effect and made every attempt possible to antagonise the Glasgow crowd as Scotland played Germany in the opening round of the Euro 2024 tournament on the same night,
The Following Results Took Place On WWE SmackDown:
- Naomi defeated Chelsea Green
- Legado Del Fantasma met with General Manager Nick Aldis backstage. A match between Santos Escobar and Apollo Crews was made official for later in the night
- Grayson Waller hosted The Grayson Waller Effect with Austin Theory. #DIY were the guests and Waller insulted Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa before Gargano brought up footage of the previous week that saw Waller push Theory in the way of an attack. #DIY stood tall to close out the segment.
- Blair Davenport confronted Bayley and Naomi before walking away. Green and Niven attacked both Naomi and Bayley
- Santos Escobar defeated Apollo Crews. Baron Corbin ran in to chase off the rest of Legado Del Fantasma
- Cody Rhodes made his way to the ring for a promo segment and received a great reception from the Glasgow fans with a chant to the tune of “Daddy Cool.” Rhodes stated that it would be impossible for him to say those 2 words “I Quit” before being interrupted by Styles. Styles tried to lambast Rhodes but the chant started up again. A decibel meter appeared on screen. Styles finally spoke and was drowned out by “shut the f*ck up chants” before referencing Rhodes’ repeated quittings, including AEW. Rhodes responded that he didn’t quit but he bet on himself. Styles noted that Rhodes didn’t quit in Hell in a Cell but he wouldn’t be against Seth Rollins but instead against AJ Styles.
- The Street Profits were interviewed backstage but were attacked by Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa
- Nia Jax defeated Michin in a quick squash match
- LA Knight showed up unannounced at Logan Paul’s house and was kicked out
- Carmelo Hayes appeared live in the crowd and claimed that he would win Money in the Bank
- Nick Aldis barred Loa and Tomga from ringside for the main event between Solo Sikoa and Kevin Owens
- Solo Sikoa defeated Kevin Owens. Tonga Loa and Tama Tonga beat down Owens after the match but Randy Orton made the save
