A major update from a top champion and more took place on the August 18 edition of WWE Raw.
With Naomi not cleared to compete on the August 11 episode of the show, speculation has run wild as to why the Women’s World Champion has been out of action. Putting an end to the rumours, Naomi appeared live to let the fans know the reason for her absence and whether the title needed to be vacated.
Additionally, Becky Lynch defended her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Natalya, Seth Rollins appeared live, and IYO SKY faced Raquel Rodriguez.
Michael Cole and Corey Graves were on commentary for the show.
WWE Raw Results August 18:
- The Vision opened up the show before being interrupted by Jey Uso. Following a back and forth between the former World Champion and the faction, it was announced that Uso vs. Bron Breakker would be an extreme rules match later in the show.
- Asuka apologised to IYO SKY for interfering in her match last week, but SKY didn’t want any help in her match against Raquel Rodriguez.
- IYO SKY defeated Raquel Rodriguez. A post match brawl ensued with Rhea Ripley making the save for SKY.
- Penta defeated Xavier Woods.
- The Judgment Day defeated Mr. Iguana and Dragon Lee. A post-match brawl saw EL Hijo Del Vikingo make the save for the babyfaces.
- Becky Lynch defeated Natalya to retain the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Yet another post-match brawl ensued, this time with Nikki Bella making the save for Natalya.
- Naomi announced that she was pregnant, meaning that the title can’t be defended. Naomi went full heel by first refusing to give up the championship, before leaving the title in the ring.
- Jey Uso defeated Bron Breakker in an extreme rules match that saw appearances from CM Punk, LA Knight, The Vision and Roman Reigns, who speared Bron Breakker.
